As a server, there is nothing worse than getting a lousy tip after waiting on someone's every beck and call. If you sit and dine in a restaurant, anything less than 20% is an insult. The double the tax thing a server's worst nightmare because it ALWAYS shorts the tip. We aren't paid hourly like people think - I live off of my tips - try to pay for college single-handedly on lousy tippers.
