Remember to speak softly to a shy cat or kitten. They don't like loud noises or voices. I've tamed so many feral adult cats & kittens and all of your advice is good and yes, the rewards are so worth the time it takes to win over a feral or shy cat or kitten's trust.

The very best antiseptic for a cat is to keep it indoors where it will be safe from other animals. Cats that are allowed to live outdoors typically have a significantly reduced life span so if you love your cat like a family member, keep him in and away from danger.
Anyway, sounds like a good treatment if you happen to rescue a cat with some type of wound. You will still need to get to the vet ASAP. Thanks for sharing your story.
