When she started biting back [out of self defense] they took her to the shelter because she was a "vicious" dog. And it doesn't make you a bad person for not caring who the new owner will be? A good person would make sure they keep their pet, and if they absolutely can't, they surely wouldn't sell their pet and would absolutely care who the new owners are.
