The nickname “Tippy” began when I was 14, after a ski accident left me with a broken leg and crutches that I never mastered. I tipped over a dozen times a day. The name stuck. I’ve been a freelance writer for 12 years and I make my home in Central Kansas with three large Saint Bernards, a wonderful husband and various farm critters. Addicted to wide open spaces, I enjoy country life, growing our own food and generating our own power.

I like to heat marshmallow creme and dip my cupcakes in that before rolling in coconut. It turns out just like those snowballs, especially if you use chocolate cake batter.

LOL - it's a real learning process. As a Saint Bernard breeder and trainer, I've learned to deal with some things I never thought I'd be able to, at least not without passing out. I've had male dogs come from over a mile away and pace just outside my female's kennel. There was even a time when the Senator's Golden Retriever jumped the fence and impregnated my Saint. For those who don't know - a cross between a Saint Bernard and a purebred Golden Retriever will result in a very dark, but large, brindle puppies. One would think they would be lighter in color, but they are not.
