I am married to a retired soldier. We have one son. I am a counselor working to help soldiers with their career and job search as they leave the military. For a decade, I worked with families and children. Working with soldiers is a big change for me! I have a M.S. in Human Development/Family Studies from Kansas State University. Definitely not for everyone. I do know a former soldier that went to Kuwait/Iraq for a year and paid off his mortgage, cars and all his debt. It's lucrative if you are willing to take the risk.

How to Transition Out of the Military on 02/04/08

Headhunters are great for officers and higher ranking NCO's, but the average soldier does not have the technical expertise headhunters want. Better to rely on the Army Career Alumni Program (for which all soldiers are eligible)to develop a solid resume and develop job leads.
