I'm so glad I saw this site; I wore my brand new, really, really, really, really lovely, never been worn jacket today and promptly got salad oil down the front (can't take me anywhere). 'Bummed' doesn't cover it. So, after kicking myself all the way home I went online, positive it was in vain and I now was the owner of yet another shabby coat, and promptly came to your site. Well, I read the tips, did what was suggested (the talc method) and managed to wait 25 minutes until I HAD to check, expecting no improvement and have found the PROMINENT stains almost gone! So, my beautiful and needlessly, but deliciously, expensive coat has been resusitated, I'm happy again and all is right with the world (except for Bush). Thank you all soooo much!!! Really.

This is an EXCELLENT and thorough article, many thanks, it should be made into a pamphlet given to EVERY person that buys or adopts a dog (or almost any pet for that matter). In reference to Step 4: If you have a dog that you'd prefer to keep top coat full, that's feasible but ALWAYS make sure to still clip the stomach fur; this allows the dog's body to expel heat pretty adequately.
