I own a eco-friendly wash, dry, fold laundry and alternative green dry cleaning business. I started it so I could be my own boss and spend time with my kids, do something for my beliefs, and continue to live the tightwad lifestyle. I've been doing theater costume design, RenFaire, and the SCA for fourteen years, and textiles of all kinds and varieties are my second love of life, the first being horses.

by Loni Ice on 05/13/08 : Well, I've come across several ideas for tying the cords. One of the easiest is to fold the cords in half, wrap around the couple's wrists, put the two ends together through the loop of the fold, and pull taut to comfort level for the duration of the ceremony. At no time should you tie two people together in such a way that they cannot get apart in an emergency, so no complicated knots that take forever to get apart. In addition, large round cord is a better idea than thin, flat ribbon for safety reasons. If you're going to use flat ribbon, it's better to just loop it over prettily and don't even think about a knot. After all, it's the symbology of the thing. ;) ...

How to Iron a Shirt on 05/26/07
Clean your iron of starch residue with white vinegar. Use also to get ironed in wrinkles out by dabbing lightly onto wrinkle and re-ironing. Warning, it doesn't smell that great, so let it evaporate before wearing.

You need to be careful with this. Some fabrics on the market will literally change structure with adding too much water, which is why dry cleaners don't USE water. I own an alternative dry cleaning and laundry business, and I've been working with textiles for fourteen years, and a lot of the synthetics are made to not be immersible in water. Please, do the research on the material in question, use a dry cleaning kit, or take it to professionals.
