Get a gallon of water blessed by a priest and then load up a super-soaker watergun, the bigger the better. Keep in by your bedside, pumped and primed for a quick blast to face of any intruding vampries.

Crushed garlic can be infused into water (high concentration is preferable) and used in simialr fashion to holy water when a priest is not readily available. This method probably wont kill the beast, but it should at least run them away. Especially if you have a high enough concentration of garlic in the water.
