Ok - I totally disagree with the statement that the catholic church went wrong with designating a Pope - Catholics believe that JESUS designated Peter as the first Pope to lead the church on earth till he returns. All popes since Peter are SUCCESSORS to Peter --- Jesus in his wisdom, knew his followers needed a leader to stand him for him to grow the church and keep it alive till he came back to us.
By the way, most catholics I know (self included) read the Bible - I extend a personal invitation to Anthony to attend mass - I suspect it would be a pleasant surprise for him !!
