The Ford E-Series, is a line of " Econoline" vans. The line was first introduced in 1961. Beginning in 1980 it became the best-selling American full-sized van in the market. The 1989 vans offered many more features than when the vans were first manufactured 28 years earlier.

In 1989 Ford Econoline E-150 vans came in three different trims, which included the Econoline cargo van, extended cargo van and Club Wagon passenger van.

Engine and Transmission

Three different engines were available for the 1989 Econoline vans. These included a 4.9L inline 6-cylinder and a 5.0L V-8, which were standard. Optional was a 5.8L V-8. All trims came with a three-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior Features

Titanium bumpers, sealed beam halogen headlights, tinted glass and a hinged side cargo door characterized the exterior of Ford's 1989 Econoline vans.

Interior Features

Dual bucket sets with vinyl trim, liquid crystal display odometers, a digital clock and an AM/FM radio were standard Econoline interior features in 1989.

More Features

In 1989 Econoline vans were constructed with a 72-amp battery and 95-amp alternator. They had a 138-inch wheelbase, gas shock absorbers, power steering, power brakes with a rear anti-lock feature and a 22-gallon fuel tank.
