The Restaurants at the Riverside Mall in New Jersey

Save

The Shops at Riverside is an enclosed shopping mall in Hackensack, New Jersey, six miles from the George Washington Bridge. Because of its proximity to Manhattan, it attracts New York shoppers. The mall has two upscale department stores that serve as anchors: Bloomingdale’s and Saks Fifth Avenue. The mall has approximately 70 stores and has several restaurant options for those who want to take a break from shopping.

McCormick & Schmick’s

With restaurants located throughout the country, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant offers diners fresh, daily seafood selections. To go along with their philosophy, they print their menus twice a day to offer only what is fresh that day. The menu includes seafood appetizers, a cold seafood and raw bar section, a small sushi and sashimi section and seafood entrees including standard favorites such as fish and chips as well as daily specials. Steak and chicken are also available for diners who prefer a meat choice over seafood. Although the restaurant has pricier dinner options--fish specialities range in price from $17 to $25--early-bird diners can enjoy a two-course meal for $15.95 from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Morton’s the Steakhouse

Morton’s, also a chain steakhouse, focuses on steaks for every kind of appetite, from large Porterhouse steaks to smaller steaks such as a single cut filet mignon. The restaurants offers salads and vegetable sides, such as asparagus and mashed potatoes. Appetizers, however, are mainly seafood, such as tuna tartare, crabcakes and oysters. Their prime ocean platter includes lobster, shrimp, crab and oysters, served on a large platter with lemon and condiments. Desserts run the gamut from fresh raspberries to New York style cheesecake to ice cream and souffle. Morton’s offers a diverse selection of wines, both domestic and international. Each location stocks at least 200 wines.

Rosa Mexicano

If you’re in the mood for some Mexican food while shopping, Rosa Mexicano offers diners Mexican cuisine blended with new flavors. Appetizers range from guacamole, prepared tableside to tortilla soup, tacos and cheese fondue. Main dishes focus equally on seafood and meat entrees such as tuna, shrimp, lamb shank and mixed grill of filet mignon and chorizo. The restaurant offers the more traditional platters such as enchiladas and tacos as well. The menu lists which items are mild, medium or hot so you can be prepared.
