La Trattoria

  • This Italian restaurant serves a traditional Thanksgiving meal that includes a large turkey with all the trimmings, such as potatoes, vegetables, stuffing and pies. Customers can choose from two sittings throughout the day, the first one being at 11.30 a.m. La Trattoria has been open for more than 40 years and as such is one of the most popular restaurants in the area, therefore booking ahead is advisable. Throughout the year the restaurant offers a combination of Italian and American cuisine. Dishes such as breaded veal cutlets, calf’s liver in balsamic vinegar, egg-dipped sole and clam linguini are on the menu. As well as Thanksgiving, La Trattoria can cater to weddings and banquets, and children’s menus are also available.

Carmen Anthony

  • Carmen Anthony offer something a little less traditional for Thanksgiving. Rather than just offer turkey, it serves a buffet to cater to all palates, this includes ribs, lobster ravioli, tilapia and baked ham. The restaurant has a total of five branches, two of which are in Connecticut. Menus differ slightly for each, but they all offer seafood, steaks and an award winning clam chowder, voted the best in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine. Carmen Anthony has an extensive wine selection as well as fine aged cognacs and other spirits.

Hawthorne Inn

  • The Hawthorne Inn has been open as a lodgings and a restaurant since 1945. This gourmet restaurant serves traditional turkey as well as its most popular dish, roasted prime rib, on Thanksgiving. This elegant restaurant is accustomed to catering for events thanks to having 12 separate function rooms. Throughout the year the menu features a mixture of Italian and American cuisine, here you will find chicken Tuscany, roast Long Island duckling, baked stuffed lobster and Angus filet mignon. The cocktail list has innovative drinks such as key lime martini and snicker-tini, there is also a wide range of after dinner drinks on offer.
