The induction system of the 2006 CR 85 used a 1.5-inch Mikunki carburetor that featured a throttle position sensor. The CR 85 featured a capacitor discharge ignition system that had an electronic advance. The standard transmission of this dirt bike was a six-speed manual with a chain final drive.
The rake of the 2006 CR 85 was 26.5 degrees. The rake reflects the degree of the angle between the headset tube and a vertical line. The front suspension of this dirt bike was a fully adjustable leading-axle Showa cartridge fork. This suspension allowed the front axle to travel 10.8 inches. The rear suspension was a Pro-Ling Showa single-shock that was fully adjustable. This suspension also allowed the rear axle to travel 10.8 inches. The CR 85's front tire had a wide point of 70 inches and an aspect ratio of 70. The rear tire's wide point was 90 inches and had an aspect ratio of 90.

The wheelbase of the 2006 CR 85 was 49.1 inches wide. The ground clearance of this dirt bike was 12.2 inches and the fuel tank could hold a maximum of 1.35 gallons of gasoline. The seat of the CR 85 sat 32.4 inches off of the ground. The dry weight of this bike was 144 pounds. The dry weight reflects the weight of the motorcycle with no fuel and none of the necessary fluids.
