Suzuki LT230E Specifications

Suzuki first manufactured the LT230E all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in 1985 and it survived in the quad market for eight years until it was discontinued in 1993. Few changes were made to the LT230E over the course of its production. When it first hit the market in 1985, the Suzuki ATV had a retail price of $1,969.

Engine

The engine has a displacement of 14 cubic inches. The Suzuki's camshaft operates above the combustion chamber within the cylinder head, known as overhead cam. The engine's one cylinder is equipped with two valves. The four-stroke engine has a Mikuni carburetor and a five-speed manual transmission.

Suspension and Brakes

The ATV has hydraulic disc brakes. Offering 6.3 inches of wheel travel, the front double A-frame suspension smoothes out the bumpier of roads.

Dimensions

The quad's dry weighs 337 lbs., and it can hold 2.5 gallons of gas. The wheelbase is 44.5 inches. Until 1986, the chassis was 71.7 inches in length, 41.7 inches in width and 43.5 in height. On 1987 models, it then measured 43.5 inches high, 41.9 inches wide and 70.7 inches long. The ATV has a front track measuring 31.7 inches; the rear track is slightly smaller at 31.3 inches. At its lowest point, the chassis is 4.5 inches above ground level; the seat is 31.3 inches high.
