The Chevrolet C/K 1500 was first introduced into the market in 1988 and has been the second best-selling vehicle in America for the last 15 years. The Z71 is the off-road package that was made available by General Motors as an option on SUVs and trucks, including the Chevrolet C/K 1500. The 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 with a Z71 package was a popular model at that time with four-wheel drive, fog lamps, on and off road tires, and five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels.

Exterior Features

The 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 with the Z71 package came in a variety of exterior colors from Emerald Green Metallic and Dark Carmine Red Metallic to Summit White and Onyx Black. The height of the vehicle is 70.8 inches, 237.4 inches in length and 76.8 inches in width from each side mirror. The 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 is a two-door truck. For those with the extended cab trucks, the truck comes with three doors. The vehicles also came standard with day time running lights, tinted glass and rear step bumper.

Interior Features

The interior of the 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 has a seating capacity of three. However, if you purchase the extended cab, the seating capacity is six. The front head room is 40 inches and the leg room is 41.5 inches. For those with the extended cab, rear head room is 38 inches and rear leg room is 28.7 inches. The vehicle came standard with power steering, AM/FM radio, vinyl seating and front split bench seat.

Safety Features

As far as safety features in 1998, the Chevrolet C/K 1500 came standard with anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger front airbags. Head and side airbags were not available nor were stability and traction control.

The 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 was powered by a 4.3-liter, V6 engine. The engine also had an output power of 200 horsepower at 4,400 rpm and 255 foot-pounds of torque at 2,800 rpm. The vehicle also came standard with a five-speed manual transmission.
