Johnson Controls, Inc., manufactures the Everstart battery specifically for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Johnson Controls offers batteries for autos, marine engines and even lawn equipment. The Maxx 65N battery is one of the most industrial automotive batteries offered by the company. The specifications for the battery include the warranty, dimensions and maintenance.

Warranty

The Maxx 65N battery carries one of Wal-Mart's best warranties. The battery has a free replacement period of three years. During that time, should your battery fail to hold or maintain a charge, you can have it replaced for free with supporting documentation. After the free-replacement period, the battery has an additional six years prorated for a total of 108 month warranty (nine years). Warranties are subject to verification and voided with physical damage. The paper used on the warranty receipts is thermal paper which means it will blacken when exposed to heat. Keep the warranty paperwork separate from the battery in a safe location.

Dimensions

The 65N is one of the largest batteries offered by Wal-Mart. The battery is 11 inches wide, 7.5 inches deep, and 7 inches tall. The battery is used in Chrysler, Ford, Jeep, Mazda and Mitsubishi vehicles, or any vehicle capable of housing such a large unit. The positive terminal sits on the top left of the battery. The 65N features the largest cranking capacity of any Wal-Mart battery. The unit has 1,000 cranking amps and 850 cold cranking amps capable of starting even diesel engines during cold weather.

Maintenance

The battery is a maintenance-free battery. This means the acid inside of the battery does not need to be replenished with distilled or deionized water. Adding any chemicals or fluids to the battery voids the warranty. General maintenance requires you clean the terminals with acid cleaner, available from any auto parts retailer and a wire brush. Make sure all the terminals are tight before starting the vehicle. Store the battery separate from the vehicle during long-term storage and charge weekly if the unit is not in use. Keep the battery in a cool, dry environment during storage.
