Every car has its own power, its own top speed, and more specifically its own torque. That torque is what pretty much defines a sports car, from just a car. Simply put, it is how much power is put into making the wheels go around. Here are the torque specifications for the different 2011 Honda Accord models.

LX / LX-P / SE

Technically, these models would be the bottom of the line for the Accord series. However, in the long run, the torque specs are not all that different. These models would have 161 foot-lbs. torque at 4,300 rpm.

EX / EX-L

These models would be in the middle of the Accord series. Better than the LX, but not as good as the V-6. Not all that much different from the LX though, these models would have 162 foot-lbs. torque at 4,400 rpm.

EX V-6 / EX-L V-6

These models are the top of the line when it comes to buying a Honda Accord. They are basically just a step up from everything else. These models would end up having 254 foot-lbs. torque at 5,000 rpm.

Torque History

The Honda Accord has changed quite a bit since its first conception in 1976. From 1976 to 1983, the Accord featured a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine with an output of 68 horsepower or 83 foot-lbs. torque at 4,300 rpm. In the years 1984 to 1985, the engine increased in size and increased the horsepower to 101 or 123 foot-lbs. torque at 4,300 rpm.

The third generation of Accord models from 1986 to 1989 saw a larger 2-liter engine with a max 110 horsepower or 134 foot-lbs. torque on fuel injected models. Fourth generation models made until 1993 increased to a 2.2-liter engine, 130 horsepower, and 158 foot-lbs. torque.

Fifth and sixth generation Accords built from 1994 to 2002 featured 2.7 to 3 liter engines with 170 horsepower and 165 foot-lbs. torque. Accords built in 2003 to 2007 featured 244 horsepower and 298 foot-lbs. torque on 4-cylinder models and 253 horsepower and 309 foot-lbs. torque at 4,300 rpm on the new Accord Hybrid models. 2008 Accords also reached a maximum of 268 horsepower and 281 foot-lbs. torque at 5,000 rpm on their V-6 models.
