International Tractor Specifications


Case International Harvester manufactures tractors to suit the needs of small farms and orchards, plus midsize and large agriculture enterprises. The company began operations in the 1830s and has a product line that includes 4-wheel drive, row crop, utility and compact tractors. Case IH also produces equipment for planting and seeding, harvesting, tillage, hay and forage, utility vehicles, skid steers, attachments and precision farming.

4-Wheel Drive

  • Case IH's most powerful tractors are 4-wheel drive models: the Steiger and Quadtrac series. With a horsepower rating of 350-600 and peak hp of 390-660, Steigers and Quadtracs can be matched with the largest implements. Both narrow-wheel and wide-frame models are available. They also feature spacious cabs; a 40-degree swivel seat; multi-control armrest; a color display; and an optional cab suspension package. As of November 2010 there were 10 Steiger and four Quadtrac models in production.

Row Crop

  • Case IH manufactures three series of row crop tractors: Magnum, Puma and Maxxum models. There are 12 models of Magnum tractors; they have an average horsepower rating of 150-280 with maximum power ranging from 234-389 hp. Magnums feature power boost capabilities; a suspended cab; multi-control armrest; color display; and a CVT transmission that requires less clutching and shifting.

    Puma series tractors are designed for utility, livestock and mid-sized cash grain operations. Pumas have 95-195 hp, 71-145 hp at peak performance. They come with the choice a power shift or CVT transmission, high-capacity hydraulics and 13 models are available. The Maxxum line is made for livestock, row crop and roadside mowing and come with a horsepower rating of 90-120, with 12 models available.


  • Case IH has five series of utility tractors. The Farmall U Series is a heavy-frame, heavy-duty utility tractor with a 70-90 hp rating. The U Series comes in three models and has high-capacity hydraulics, multiple transmission options and deluxe controls. The Farmall N Series is a narrow-width, low-profile specialty tractor line with 70-90 hp that is ideal for orchards and vineyards, with two models in production.

    The Farmall C Series is a low profile "straddle" tractor with 50-80 hp with simple mechanical controls and comes in four models. The Farmall Series has a horsepower rating ranging from 52-80 and is a basic all-purpose tractor that comes in five models. And the Farmall A Series is a simple line of tractors with an power rating ranging from 39-66 hp, and has high-capacity hydraulics, fingertip controls and an ergonomic operator environment. It is available in four models.


  • The Farmall Compact Series has a rating of 31-60 hp for its 10 models. They are compatible with a full line of attachments, such as a mower, tiller or backhoe. Options include a cab and CVT transmission, there is also a choice of three-cylinder or four-cylinder engines available.
