Which Hummers Offer a Third-Row Seat?

The Hummer line of full-size sport utility vehicles began as authentic military vehicles built by AMC before hitting the mainstream market after General Motors gained rights to the brand. Many of the GM Hummers -- the H2 and H3 -- offer optional third-row seating to make room for more passengers.

2004 Hummer H1

The H1 normally seats four, but the third-row seat allows for another person. The Open Top has 44.4 inches of headroom in the front and 42.9 inches of headroom in the back. The Wagon has 41.6 inches of headroom in the front and 40 inches of headroom in the back. Front seat legroom is 44.1 inches for the Open Top and 38.1 inches for the Wagon. Backseat legroom is 29.9 inches for both versions. Shoulder room is 77.1 inches in the front and back for both versions. Hip room measures 23.1 inches in the front for both and 22.4 inches in the back.

2005 Hummer H2

The 2005 Hummer H2 has room for five passengers, and a sixth can fit with the third-row seat. The headroom is 40.5 inches in the front seat and 39.7 inches in the back seat. The H2 has 41.3 inches of legroom in the front and 38.6 inches of legroom in the back. Shoulder room is 66.4 inches in the front seats and 66.3 inches in the backseat. Hip room equals 62.9 inches in the front seats and 62 inches in the backseat.

2009 Hummer H3

The 2009 Hummer H3 seats up to five in standard configuration, but the optional third-row seat allows for one more passenger. Headroom is 40.7 inches in the front seat and 39.8 inches in the backseat. Legroom is 41.9 inches in the front seat and 36.1 inches in the backseat. Shoulder room measures 54.4 inches in the front and 53.5 inches in the back. Hip room is 53.8 inches in the front seat and 48.1 inches in the backseat.
