Whether your family is getting excited for an upcoming trip to a Disney park or your kids just love Disney movies, creating meals in the theme of favorite characters will ensure that your family is excited about their dinner. Slip plenty of vegetables and fruits into the meal plan then talk up how exciting the dinner is. Children will be so excited about eating a dinner in the shape of Mickey Mouse that they won't even notice they're eating a healthy meal.

  1. Mickey Mouse Pancakes

    • Serve "breakfast for dinner." This is not only a special dinner treat, but an easy way to incorporate Mickey Mouse into the meal. Make whole-wheat pancakes in the shape of Mickey heads by dropping three spoonfuls of batter onto the griddle in the shape of a head and two ears. After you've cooked one side, flip each pancake over and place two chocolate chips or blueberries on the head to signify Mickey's eyes. Cook up some scrambled eggs or sausage to add some protein to the meal, then cut up fruit into circular shapes. Bananas, pineapples, kiwis or oranges will form circles when cut into slices, or you can cut out your own circle shapes from the inside of an apple. Stick two toothpicks into a large fruit slice, then attach one smaller fruit circle to each toothpick to make Mickey's head and ears.

    'Finding Nemo' Quiche

    • To make a healthy meal that will remind children of beloved characters from "Finding Nemo," start with sea turtles made out of miniature spinach quiches. You can buy frozen mini quiches or make your own. Use a regular quiche recipe and pour the filling into miniature muffin tins instead of pie crust, or use Disney Family's recipe. While they bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, make the turtle's head and flippers. Cut a piece off the bottom of the grape to make it stand up without rolling, then cut a sliver out of one end of the grape with a paring knife to make a mouth. For the flippers, cut four triangles out of a green pepper. Arrange the grapes and pepper on a plate and place one quiche in the center. Cut fish shapes out of carrot slices and decorate the plate with them.

    Mr. Potato Head Tortillas

    • Disney Family suggests having children help make their own Mr. Potato Head (from the "Toy Story movies) tortillas. This meal is both filled with vegetables and easy to make, since you can make use of whatever vegetables you already have in the refrigerator. Lay out one tortilla for each child along with a variety of sliced up vegetables like cucumbers, mushrooms and peppers. Each child can arrange the vegetables on his tortilla to design his own face. For instance, he can use mushroom slices for eyes with olives on top for pupils. When he's done arranging his face, have the child add some shredded chicken and cheese for protein. He can roll it up and eat it that way or eat it with a fork if he's picky.

    'The Little Mermaid' Theme

    • Cook pasta in the shape of shells. Serve it with tomato sauce and cheese or with just butter, depending on your child's tastes. You can find fish sticks in the shape of fish, starfish and other sea creatures in the frozen food department. Bake some fish sticks and serve them on a plate next to the pasta. Cook some spinach and arrange it in tendrils around the fish sticks to look like seaweed.
