What Types of Planes Does Allegiant Airlines Fly?

Headquartered in Las Vegas, Allegiant Air operates an all-jet charter and scheduled airline service. As of 2014, the airline flies to 99 cities within the United States, including Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Diego and several locales in Florida. Allegiant sells vacation packages including airfare, accommodations, car rentals and activities.

McDonnell Douglas

Most of the fleet is made up of McDonnell Douglas MD 80s, MD 83s and MD 85s, each with 166 seats and a range of 1,600 nautical miles. A nautical mile is longer than a land-based mile, measuring 6,076 feet and 5,280 feet, respectively. All seats in these aircrafts are coach, which is applicable to all of Allegiant's planes.

Boeing and Airbus

Allegiant Air also operates six Boeing 757s as of 2014. These larger planes have a range of 2,700 nautical miles and carry 215 passengers. The airline operates three Airbus A319s and seven Airbus A320s. The A319 has a range of 2,300 nautical miles and has 156 seats. The A320 has 177 seats and can cover up to 2,000 nautical miles without refueling.
