The Honda TRX250 is a small, entry-level, all terrain vehicle (ATV) for the beginning off-road rider. The four-wheeler uses a SportClutch that doesn't stall when the ATV stops, an important feature for riders not used to shifting a manual transmission.

Engine

The 2008 Honda TRX250EX includes an air-cooled, longitudinally mounted, 229 cubic centimeter, single-cylinder engine. The four-stroke, overhead valve motor features a piston-valve carburetor induction system and solid-state capacitor discharge ignition with electronic advance. It has a bore and stroke of 68.5 mm by 62.2 mm. The motor includes an automatic cam-chain tensioner and an 8,750 rotations per minute rev limiter.

Chassis

The TRX250EX features a double-cradle steel frame with front double-wishbone suspension, allowing 5.9 inches of travel. The rear steel swingarm and mono-shock suspension has 5.9 inches of travel. The five-speed transmission has a reverse gear and a direct rear driveshaft. The ATV includes dual hydraulic front disc brakes with a mechanical rear drum brake.

Dimensions

The Honda vehicle is 68.5 inches long, 41.8 inches wide and 42.4 inches high with a 31.4-inch seat height. Its wheelbase is 44.3 inches with 5.9 inches of ground clearance and a turning radius of 9.2 feet. The ready to ride weight is 377 lbs.
