Mitsubishi Canter Specs

Save

The Mitsubishi Fuso Canter is part of a truck series dating back to 1963, but was only introduced to the American market in 1985, known as the FE model back then. These days the commercial vehicle comes in a wide range, including five chassis sizes, four variations of the cab and three different engines, providing a list of options for anyone that may be in the market for a truck.

Power

  • The Fuso Canter can reach torque of 317 foot-pounds and comes in three power ratings, 130 horsepower (hp), 107 hp and 129 hp. The Euro-5 engine exhibits low fuel consumption thanks to a shut diesel filter. A 32.5 percent aqueous urea solution, to reduce nitrogen emission, is injected into the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalytic converter -- a nitrogen oxide converter -- resulting in emissions being cut by a third. Exhaust brakes are included, but can be turned off if desired. The task of transmitting the engine power is carried out by a six-speed transmission.

Chassis

  • A U-section frame offers load safety after continuously hitting the 5020 kg full payload capacity. The chassis come in all weight variations, from 3.5 tons to 7.5 tons. Up to seven passengers can fit into the crew cabs of these trucks. The wheelbases vary in size from 98 inches to 176 inches and twin tires at the back deliver high traction. An 11.6-yard turning circle helps while attempting to maneuver into tight gaps.

Other Specifications

  • Parabolic springs help to improve road contact and bringing all of the Canter's 7.5 tons to a halt is the job of an anti-lock braking system and disc brakes. Inside the cab there is an adjustable driver's seat and steering wheel as well as ample legroom. The gear shift is mounted on the dash in an attempt to make it more accessible to the driver. The Mitsubishi also comes equipped with power windows and three-point seat belts, and occupants experience little noise from inside the cab.
