In its earlier years, the Toyota Tundra was not an overly capable tow vehicle, but the seconds-generation models saw sharp increases in trailer-hauling capabilities. The 2014 Toyota Tundra in its base trim -- SR5 -- could tow a medium-size trailer, but thanks to their standard Tow Package, the other Tundra trim levels could tow a much larger trailer. The Tow Package was not available on the SR5 model, even as an option.
The base 2014 Toyota Tundra SR5 can tow 6,800 pounds. The Platinum and 1794 Edition trims each can tow 10,000 pounds, and the Limited trim can tow 10,200 pounds.
