Garnish a fruity drink with fruit.

Rum is used in many drinks, including several fruity drinks for those who prefer a more sweet-tasting drink. Rum is available in dark and light, as well as artificial flavors, such as banana, coconut, passion fruit, berry and watermelon. Create some of these fruity drinks for your next party or get-together. Add this to my Recipe Box.

  1. Rum Punch

    • Pour 1 oz. of dark rum, light rum, aged rum, pineapple juice and orange juice over ice in a hurricane glass. Add 1/2 oz. of sweet and sour mix, a dash of grenadine and a dash of bitters. Stir until well blended. Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.

    Planter's Punch

    • Add 3 oz. dark rum, 3 oz. spiced rum, 1 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier, 6 oz. orange juice, 6 oz. pineapple juice, 1 1/2 oz. lime juice, 1 1/2 oz. simple syrup, 2 oz. grenadine, 4 dashes of bitter and an orange wheel in a pitcher. Stir until well blended then pour into a shaker of ice. Shake and then drain into a highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange slice and cherry.

    Hurricane

    • Mix 1/2 oz. spiced rum, 3/4 oz. dark rum, 3 oz. of passion fruit juice, 3 oz. of mango juice and 2 oz of sweet and sour mix. Shake in a cocktail shaker for about one minute and then pour over crushed ice in a hurricane glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.

    Strawberry Banana Colada

    • For a frozen drink, blend 8 oz. ice, 1 1/4 oz. dark rum, 1 banana, 2 oz. coconut cream and 2 oz. of fresh or frozen strawberries in a blender. Blend until smooth and pour into a frozen beer mug. Garnish with a fresh strawberry.

    Rum Runner

    • Blend 3/4 oz. spiced rum, 1/4 oz. blackberry liqueur, 1/4 oz. banana liqueur, 2 oz. of orange juice, 1/2 oz. grenadine and 8 oz. of ice in a blender until smooth. Pour into a highball glass and serve with a slice of orange or strawberry.

    Fruity Booty

    • Pour 2 oz. of triple sec, 2 oz. of peach schnapps, 1 oz. of rum, 2 oz. of orange juice and 2/3 oz. of ginger ale into a highball glass two-thirds of the way filled with ice. Stir until well blended and garnish with an orange slice.

    Barbados Punch

    • Mix 1 oz. spiced rum, 1/4 oz. triple sec, 1 oz. lime juice and 2 oz. of pineapple juice in a blender with ice. Blend until smooth and pour into a highball glass. Garnish with a lime slice and a pineapple slice.
