To find new customers, many companies have affiliate programs that allow individuals to sign up for an account and promote the product. If a sale is made, the individual then earns a commission. A number of well-known car insurance companies offer affiliate programs that allow individuals to earn an income while promoting a product in their spare time.
Esurance offers an affiliate program in conjunction with Commission Junction. Commission Junction is responsible for tracking the sign-ups referred to Esurance by affiliates and then paying the affiliate's commission. Esurance offers creative ads to place on the affiliate's website including banners, logos and zip code boxes for potential customers to click through. The Esurance Online Partner Program prohibits affiliates from sending out unsolicited emails, also known as spam, and all advertising must comply with state laws and regulations. As of 2010, the Esurance affiliate program pays $10 per quote referred to the company and Commission Junction sends payments on the 20th of each month.
