If you don't mind socializing with people while having a plastic tube in your nose, check out the trendy oxygen bars popping up all over the country. Oxygen enthusiasts claim that inhaling concentrated, elevated levels of oxygen leave people feeling refreshed and energized. Guests pay per minute for oxygen, and can choose "flavored" oxygen, which adds aromas to the oxygen. In Denver there are a few places where you can try the oxygen bar experience.

Genki 02 Spa Bar

Genki 02 Spa Bar offers patrons flavored oxygen at $1 a minute, although they recommend a $10 minimum to get the effects. A simple bar with 14 oxygen stations, Genki promotes oxygen as a way to help ease the effects of a hangover, as oxygen helps clear the head. Flavors such as Tangerine Dream and Lemon Grass are available. The bar also serves speciality teas, herbal shooters such as green tea, and oxygenated water. They also have package deals for special occasions such as Valentine's Day.

Oxygen Salon & Spa

A hair salon, spa and oxygen bar all rolled into one, Oxygen Salon & Spa offers patrons an oxygen bar it claims promotes healing, relieves altitude sickness and heightens concentration. Located in the Cherry Creek section of Denver, the spa also specializes in beauty treatments like the European facial and hot stone massage, and trendy hair treatments such as the Brazilian Blowout. Special packages include spa treatments, blow dry and 15 minute oxygen bar sessions.

Tonic Herban Lounge

Just 40 minutes from downtown Denver, Tonic Herban Lounge is located in Boulder. This bar offers customers a hip, stylish atmosphere with plush chairs and couches at the oxygen stations. Choose from a wide variety of aromas to inhale with your oxygen. Herbal teas and bottle water is also available. The Tonic Herban Lounge serves raw food specialties such as kale chips, desserts such as Pecan Turtle Cheesecake and organic wine. Live music events are also held regularly.
