Lemonade Stand Ideas

Save

Lemonade stands call to mind sweet drinks in the summer and kids trying to earn money. If your child is intent on running a business and making some cash, whether for themselves or for a good cause, consider how you can make a lemonade stand really pop. Consider what will work in your location and how you can attract your thirsty customers.

Cool Snakes

  • Lemonade is an excellent drink for the summer heat, so think about what other items will help cool people down. If you have access to a cooler, fill it with ice and throw in some popsicles, which are easily sold with the lemonade. You can also toss in some ice cream bars if your cooler will keep them frozen.

Fruit Bowls

  • If you want to provide a healthy choice, sell plastic bowls full of diced fruit. Mix chopped honeydew, watermelon and cantaloupe with berries, apple slices and orange wedges for a colorful display. Keep them chilled but not frozen and offer them to people along with the lemonade. Fruit bowls are colorful so leave some on the table to attract attention.

Tiki Torches

  • If you want to make the stand itself pop a little, plant tiki torches on either side of the lemonade stand. If your children are young, make sure to monitor the flames, but these torches are safe and tend to attract the eye.

Balloons

  • Helium balloons are a cheap way to get the attention of people who are going by. If your children's lemonade stand is at a farmers' market or festival, you need to do something to stand out from the crowd and clumps of balloons tied to each end of your child's lemonade stand help attract attention. Use yellow and white balloons to keep the color scheme pale and easy on the eyes, and also to recall the lemons that go into making the sweet drink.

Green Lemonade

  • When you want to stand out from other lemonade stands, offer something a little out of the ordinary with green lemonade. Green lemonade is made with limes instead of lemons, and the juice of the limes is a pale yellow-green. Garnish the green lemonade with kiwi or cucumber slices instead of lemon slices.
