High school graduation is a time for celebration of accomplishments as well as remembering back through the years--both for the graduate and her family. Graduation scrapbook pages that celebrate this special time are perfect for a cherished memory she'll remember fondly throughout her lifetime. Use creative ideas to dress up page layouts and allow for incorporating the graduate's interests, as well as her journey to this point in her life.
Remembering the School
Snap a few photos of the graduate in front of the school building, sitting at a desk in his favorite class, holding an earned trophy or ribbon or with his favorite teacher. The graduate can suggest things that he would like to have photos of for his scrapbook. Crop the pictures to fit onto a scrapbook page. Crop school letterhead for an addition to the page of photos or use a whole sheet of letterhead as a background page.
Remembering Graduation Day
Add a deflated balloon, some crepe paper streamers from the graduation ceremony or strands of the graduate's tassel to at least one scrapbook page. Use a graduation program's front page for a background on a scrapbook page. Depending on the size of the graduating class, you may be able to use the inside of the program with all the graduates' names for a page background as well. Press a corsage or single flower to add to a page, along with a photo of the graduate holding or wearing the flower item. Get a signature of the official who is handing out the diplomas to add to a page with a picture of the student receiving her diploma. If the graduate took part in the ceremony, make a special page with her written or typed speech as a background, along with photos of her delivering the speech.
Remembering the Party
Have each guest write a few words on a paper cutout, such as a graduation cap or gown shape or cutouts of the school mascot in school colors. Put these sentimental cutouts on the pages with photos of guests from the party. Some of the cards given to the graduate will make nice centerpieces for a scrapbook page. Make a special memory by including a picture of the graduate with the person who gave the card. If desired, make a copy of the inside sentiments of cards, especially handwritten thoughts, to include on the page with the entire card. Sprinkle confetti and other small decorations from the party onto a scrapbook page or two. Don't forget a picture of the cake and the graduate enjoying the cake.
Remembering the Journey
Use report cards, the graduate's artwork and homework pages throughout the years as backgrounds or cropped features on the pages. Create a page with pictures from each year of school, plus the senior photo and a graduation picture. Add newspaper clippings of special events, honor roll listings and other memories throughout the school years.
Remembering with Written Thoughts
If the graduate wishes, she may write some thoughts about her journey to graduation day to create one or more scrapbook pages. Use school-colors for paper or gel pens, if desired.
