Wild Game Restaurants in Denver

Denver, Colorado is home to many fine restaurants serving a variety of cuisines. For those who crave a uniquely Western experience, wild game dishes offer a taste of the great outdoors. Denver is home to a number of restaurants offering at least one wild game dish, usually buffalo. However, a few restaurants specialize in wild game cuisine with a few more traditional dishes for the less adverturous eater.

The Buckhorn Exchange

  • Billed as Denver's oldest restaurant, The Buckhorn Exchange offers diners the option to try a variety of wild game dishes, including buffalo, elk, salmon, quail and game hen. The restaurant also serves up exotic appetizers including alligator tail, rattlesnake, buffalo sausage and the house specialty Rocky Mountain Oysters. Occasionally, the restaurant offers ostrich and yak entrees, when supplies are available. For the less adventuresome in your dining party, Buckhorn Exchange also serves several beef options. A kids' menu with beef, elk and buffalo options is also available. The restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Friday, and dinner every day. Entertainment is featured in the lounge four nights a week.
