Excellent Customer-Service Skills
Stock clerks must be able to communicate effectively with customers and answer customers' questions correctly and with ease. You must be able to maintain a positive attitude towards customers and help them in any way that they ask.
Know Your Merchandise Well
Stock clerks should be able to examine the merchandise in the store and identify which items need to be reordered or replaced. Familiarity with all store merchandise is a must. You must be able to receive and unpack store merchandise while comparing the merchandise to the invoices to make sure that shipments are correct.
Keep the Store Attractive and Clean
Stock clerks are responsible for keeping the store clean and looking nice. You should be able to make an attractive display of items that entice a customer to purchase them. You must be able to correctly and completely clean display shelves, cases and store aisles.
