Selling electronics in North America since 1959, the Osaka-based Panasonic company manufactures a wide range of cordless phones. Features vary depending upon the product line. However, most units carry certain standard features, such as call waiting, handset locators and illuminated keypads. In addition, some lines offer features such as Bluetooth capability or improved sound quality.
DECT 6.0 PLUS
A special feature on Panasonic's DECT 6.0 PLUS and Bluetooth-capable phones, DECT PLUS technology increases the sound correction by 80 times, improves the transmission quality and expands the handset range. Operating at a frequency of 1.9 GHz frequency, the technology avoids conflicts with other wireless devices, such as 2.4 GHz routers and wireless keyboards or mice.
Available as a standard feature on Panasonic cordless phones, night mode helps you avoid night-time disturbances. By setting a bedroom handset to night mode, it won't ring during the night hours. If someone else in the home wishes to receive a call, other handsets will ring regularly.
Talking Caller ID
A standard feature on Panasonic phones, caller ID uses text-to-speech technology to alert you, in a lifelike human voice, to whomever is calling. The alert sounds between rings. In addition, the phone's alarm clock can be programmed with messages such as "It's time for lunch." When the battery is low, you'll hear it remind you to "please charge phone."
Standard on all Panasonic cordless phones, conference calls, including up to four lines, can be placed. For additional multiline options, the multiline cordless phones offer the benefits of standard two-line operation. In addition to regular conference capabilities, you may use the second line to place a caller on hold and use the other line either to receive calls or to make outgoing calls.
Standard on Panasonic cordless phones, the call block feature lets you eliminate calls from unwelcome sources, such as telemarketers. Simply enter the caller's phone number into the caller ID's blacklist. When the phone receives a call from listed numbers, it will send a busy signal to the caller, sparing you from having to answer.
Intelligent Eco Mode
Available on Panasonic´s DECT 6.0 PLUS phones, including its Bluetooth-capable line, Intelligent Eco Mode reduces overall power consumption while maintaining the same standards of call quality. Whenever you're close to the base unit, the handset requires less power for full operation. This feature extends your maximum talking time and reduces the need for charging, making for a more energy-efficient phone.
A standard feature on all DECT 6.0 PLUS lines and on most regular DECT 6.0 phones, Panasonic lets you expand a single telephone line to accommodate multiple handsets. The expandable feature applies regardless of whether you buy additional handsets individually or you opt for more economical packs of up to six handsets at once.
