Throwing a slumber party for teenage girls can involve more than just pizza, movies, impromptu pillow fights and boy talk. Planning organized games to play at the slumber party keeps the party under control and helps the teens stay entertained. Choosing games that teen girls will enjoy makes the slumber party memorable.
Gather makeup you don't use anymore, such as eyeshadow, foundation, concealer, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick and blush. Or, write on the party invitations that each girl needs to bring her makeup. Have the girls sit at a table. Place the cosmetics in the middle of the table and instruct the girls to put the makeup on themselves without the aid of a mirror. Set a timer for five minutes. After the timer goes off, have the girls vote on the guest who applied her makeup the best, and vote on the girl who applied her makeup the worst. Award each girl with a prize. And try to take pictures --- if the girls will let you!
Household Fashion Design
Teen girls love fashion and incorporating a clothing-related game into your slumber party can spark imagination of fashion-forward teenager. Gather a bunch of household items, such as duct tape, toilet paper, wrapping paper, tissue paper and paper clips. Pair the girls up, with one girl being the model and the other being the designer. The design must create an outfit for the model using the household items. Set a time limit of 10 minutes. After time is up, have all the girls vote on the outfits. The winner receives a prize. Then, have each pair switch roles so each teen gets to play model and designer. Take another vote when the second round of outfits are complete. Have the camera handy; take pictures of each girl's outfit and distribute via email after the party.
Most teen girls are up-to-date on the latest pop sensations, TV and movie stars, and any other Hollywood heartthrobs. Let them test this knowledge by playing Celebrity Identity. Get enough index cards for each guest. Write the name of a different teen idol on each card. If you're not sure which celebrities teen girls are interested in, ask your teen for help, read entertainment magazines or visit celebrity websites such as E! Online. Place a sticky note over your written text. At the party, have each girl stick the note card on her forehead and attach with a piece of tape. Instruct the girls to remove the Post-It sticker from the card. Have the girls mix and mingle with each other, asking questions and giving hints to each other regarding the new celebrity identity affixed to everyone's forehead. Each girl tries to guess what identify they've been given by deducing the clues from the questions they've been asked by the other girls. The girl to correctly guess her identity first wins the game.
