Creative Christmas Costume Ideas
We've all seen an uncle or grandpa dressed up as Santa Claus entertain the kids, but there are tons of costume ideas beyond jolly St. Nick at Christmas. Kids and adults alike can wear Christmas costumes during the holidays to add even more fun to the festivities. Many costumes are available at costume shops, but can also be easily made at home.

Santa's Reindeer
-
Dress up as one of Santa's reindeer by wearing brown or tan pants and a similarly colored top. Make a tail out of string, extra brown fabric or ribbon--add a bell to the end for a cute touch. Purchase an antler headband or make one out of a plain headband and brown pipe cleaners. Wear jingly earrings to mimic the sound of sleigh bells as you walk. If you're dressing up as Rudolph, don't forget the red nose!
Three Wise Men
-
A group of three friends or relatives can dress up as the three wise men by wearing simple robes--bathrobes will do. The three wise men should carry canes or walking sticks as well as small "gifts" for baby Jesus.
Candy Cane
-
A candy cane costume is a quick and simple one to put together. Wear an outfit of all red, and wrap white ribbon or felt around your arms and legs. If you have a little extra time, you can sew the costume together.
Christmas Tree
-
Use a green party hat as your "top" and add a star or angel ornament as your tree-topper. For the rest of the costume, sew two large green felt triangles together, leaving three holes open at the top for your head and arms, as well as the bottom open for your legs. Decorate your outfit with tree ornaments--you can even pin candy canes all over. Be creative with decorating your "tree!"
