Batman-themed parties present several options when it comes to food ideas. You have plenty of villains to choose from for inspiration as well as, of course, Batman and Robin. Finger foods are popular at parties. They're portable and easy to prepare. Set out all the drinks and snacks in a common area that makes them accessible and let the fun begin.
Place chips, dip or other party food inside an upside down top hat to resemble Batman's nemesis, the Penguin. Serve Bugle snacks to your guests to resemble Catwoman claws. Another savory snack you can serve is called Bats in a Blanket. Take a whole hot dog and slice it in the middle, but don't go all the way through. Then add a piece of cheese into the cut of the hot dog. Take unbaked crescent roll dough and roll it over the hot dog. Bake the treat according to the crescent roll's cooking directions. Serve your guests gelatin dessert and cut out pieces with a bat, cat, penguin or moon cookie cutter. Serve black, purple or yellow gelatin to represent the colors of Batman. You can also use the same method with cookies or crispy rice treats. Any sort of black candy, such as black licorice or black lollipops, will work because it will match Batman's uniform.
Serve dark drinks like grape soda or a grape-flavored sports drink. If you're serving a sports drink, pour it into a punch bowl and add Pop Rocks to it at the party. The drink will fizz and pop, making it entertaining for your guests. Serve green punch and place fake ivy around the bowl to represent Poison Ivy. Freeze dark-colored punch in an ice cube tray. At the party, serve lemon lime soda and have each child pick a colored ice cube to place in his drink. Before his eyes, the drink will change color.
Make enough chocolate cake to feed your guests. Right before the party, take the cake and layer it with cool whip, ice cream and crushed chocolate sandwich cookies. Frost the entire cake and pipe a word like "Kablam!" or "Pow!" on top of the cake. Set the cake in the freezer until you're ready to serve. You also can frost the cake in a Batman color like black or yellow and place a figurine on top. You can make chocolate cupcakes and decorate each with yellow frosting for something more simple. You can put crushed chocolate sandwich cookies on top of each cupcake or a piece of candy that's shaped like a bat. You also can make a cake out of crispy rice treats. It's easier to frost and doesn't take as long to prepare. Just prepare the rice treats in a large baking dish. Let it cool and then either cut to your desired shape or simply frost it, keeping in mind the Batman colors.
