Suffering from a bloated stomach is unpleasant on two levels. There is the feeling of discomfort and pain which makes it more difficult to go about your routine. Then there is the aesthetic worries from walking around all day with a protruding stomach. There are several causes for your stomach to be bloated. Fortunately, there are also several foods which can help you naturally avoid stomach bloating.

Diuretic Foods

Bloating can often be caused by the body retaining too much water. In order to fight this you should eat more natural diuretic foods, meaning foods that make you urinate more. Watermelon is good for this despite it being a fruit which is high on water content. Drinking cranberry juice is also recommended as it also possesses the ability to flush bacteria out of the kidneys. Cabbage is another diuretic food that also helps to break down fat deposits in the body, which it can then flush them out with the water.

Good Bacteria

Bad bacteria in the colon can create bowel toxicity which is another reason for bloating. To ensure that good bacteria are restored in this area of the body, you should begin to eat natural yogurt three to four times a week. Do this while also cutting down on higher sugary foods, which increase bad bacteria, will help clear bowel toxicity.

Easier To Break Down

Having fewer digestive enzymes in the stomach can lead to foods failing to be broken down properly. This results in undigested parts entering the lower bowel, which can lead to swelling and discomfort. To improve enzymes, you can eat less foods that are raw. Vegetables, such as carrots and peppers, should be cooked in order to be made easier for your stomach to break down. Alternatively, switch to stews and soups instead of salads and this will help give your stomach a break, helping the enzyme count to recover.

High Fibre

Constipation can cause bloating. To naturally relieve constipation you should include more fiber rich foods in your diet. These include fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grain cereals and bread, whole grain pasta and brown rice. Also, if the bloating is caused by constipation it is advisable, in this case, to drink plenty of water. That is because constipation can also be caused by a lack of water in the body.
