A new 18-year-old in the United States has many new responsibilities and laws to consider, some good and some bad, since he is now legally considered an adult. Think of a message for the card marking this milestone birthday that reflects one of these many changes. Good changes deserve congratulations and best wishes, while some of the more serious aspects of adulthood make for jokey card messages to lighten the mood.

Usually, an 18th birthday coincides with other major events such as graduating from high school and starting college.
