The Hamptons is an upscale, vibrant collection of beachfront communities on Long Island, New York’s eastern end. The area is made up of 10 towns including Amagansett, East Hampton, Southampton, Montauk and Sag Harbor. The Hamptons is well known for its ritzy restaurants, high-end shopping and miles of pristine beaches. There are myriad activities in the area including swimming, hiking, biking, touring wineries and taking boat tours.

Visitors are welcome to “design your own” charter--which can last for an hour or an entire day--or choose from one of three tours. “Castafiore’s Jewels” tours Shelter Island or spends the day on the bay, swimming is optional. “Captain’s Treasures” tour explores Cedar Point Lighthouse and the upper coves, along with observing birds such as terns, nesting osprey and cormorants. “Professor’s Affair” tour can be chartered as a sunset cruise, tour of Parrot Head or as a literary tour of the area.

Viking Fleet Whale Watching Tours

The Viking Fleet and CRESLI (Coastal Research and Education Society of Long Island) have partnered to offer a selection of family-friendly cruises featuring whale watching along with observation of other marine life including sea turtles, dolphin and birds. The cruise passes the Montauk lighthouse and many of the area’s landmarks. Tours are narrated by a marine biologist or a naturalist. Boats feature seating, fully equipped galleys and modern bathrooms. Local whale watching lasts approximately six hours; offshore whale watching trips are two-day excursions.

Weekend Warrior Tours offers kayaking tours that allow visitors to tour Long Island’s East End and landmarks such as Gardiners Island, Mecox Bay or Montauk Lighthouse.
