Getting the dress, the flowers and the cake makes for a good start, but you may find it difficult to remember all of the little things you'll need for your wedding day. Making a wedding shopping list for the day of your ceremony will help ensure that your big day goes off without a hitch. As long as you are prepared with a handful of important items, you should be ready for any unforeseen situation.
Fashion Supplies
-
Avoid a wardrobe malfunction on your big day by making sure you're stocked with supplies that help you make fast fashion fixes. A sewing kit including small scissors, a few needles and white and black thread is essential. Buy clear nail polish to help stop tears and runs fast, along with white chalk to cover up any stains on a white dress. Double-sided tape and fashion tape can come in handy for all kinds of situations, from keeping a bra strap in place to reinforcing hems. A lint brush and extra earring backs make for handy last-minute fixes, too.
Beauty Supplies
-
Part of your wedding shopping list should be dedicated to your makeup in order to ensure a picture-perfect look when you walk down the aisle. Have concealer and powder on hand to cover up any last-minute blemishes. Oil-blotting papers, available in drug stores and at makeup counters, will help you avoid a shiny face. Keep tissues, cotton tipped swabs and makeup remover cloths on hand in order to fix any smudges from crying.
Medical Supplies
-
In addition to shopping for over-the-counter medical supplies like aspirin, antacids and Band-Aids, refill any necessary prescriptions to have on hand for your wedding day. If you are wearing eyeglasses during your ceremony, you may want to buy an extra pair in case of a last-minute emergency. Contact lens wearers should remember an extra pair of lenses along with contact solution. Eye drops are a must, too. To keep teeth looking perfect, remember a small toothbrush and floss picks.
Miscellany
-
Although you can't "shop" for cash, you should have some handy on the day of the ceremony in order to account for any unforeseen expenses or gratuities. Get a tube of super glue, since it's handy for a variety of quick fixes and works fast. A pen and paper will prove useful in case you need to jot anything down; keep a phone guide with important numbers for your guests, caterer, florist, etc., nearby as well. To calm nervous stomachs, buy a box of saltine crackers and bottles of water. You should also buy small nail clippers so that you can take care of any hangnails or broken nails.
