While Gulfport, Mississippi, is known for its scenic coastline and outdoor attractions, the vibrant nightlife scene is where night owls can mingle with the locals and get down on the dance floor. Gulfport has a number of nightclubs, each with its own unique vibe and ambiance, along with smaller bars and lounges that offer live music and room to dance. Whether you're seeking a full-on party scene or a more laid-back atmosphere, Gulfport's nightlife has you covered.
Michael's Night Club
Michael's Night Club is a laid-back club just off the main highway in Gulfport, featuring a huge bar, spacious dance floor and pool table area. The bar and pool table areas include flat-screen televisions to watch sporting events as well. Special activities and events at Michael's include line dance lessons, karaoke contests and all-request music nights where the DJ plays only what patrons want to hear. Every Saturday is Ladies' Night, when women drink for free. In the summer, Michael's also hosts alcohol-free Teen Nights on Sunday evenings, which parents are welcome to attend. Michael's serves light bar food, plays a range of music from country to hip-hop, and has no dress code. Discounts on drinks are always given to military patrons.
Just off the beach, Club Ra has a Mediterranean beach theme with an outdoor swimming pool and a hookah lounge inside. Patrons are welcome to swim in the large pool with its inflatable toys or enjoy the patio area, which has a bar, a DJ area and room to dance. Inside the club, guests can saddle up to the bar and order beer buckets or a hookah pipe to share with friends. Grill food, including chicken wings and ribs, are prepared by the in-house chef. Club Ra also hosts events such as karaoke nights, bikini contests and pool parties, both during the day and at night. Although the vibe is casual, Club Ra does offer premium bottle service and private cabanas for rent.
The EO Club II
The EO Club II is a staple in the historic downtown area of Gulfport, known for featuring live music and exciting events. The club brings in local bands from all over the Gulf Coast to perform six nights a week. Events during the week include movie night on Mondays, where guests can catch a movie on a large screen and enjoy free popcorn. Tuesday nights are game show nights with cash prizes, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays the club features "Kar-EO-Ke," its own version of karaoke for the "vocally challenged." Club EO II also has two happy hours daily, pool tables and video games, and it never charges a cover.
Bars and Lounges
Gulfport also has a number of bars and lounges where you can get your party on. The M Bar in downtown Gulfport has a slightly upscale feel with its stylish decor, brick interior and mood lighting. There's room to dance, with DJ's spinning dance hits along with jazz, pop, R&B and hip-hop. No tennis shoes or baseball caps are allowed during the late evening hours. The Quarter Bar has a New Orleans theme and relaxed atmosphere -- it welcomes the sports bar crowd during the day and transforms into a club at night with DJ's or live bands performing. It also regularly hosts events such as open mic nights and crawfish boils. For those who love the blues, Murky Waters is both a barbecue restaurant and blues club, welcoming local blues bands on weekends from all over the Gulf Coast.
