The Urdang Academy

The Urdang Academy is a performing arts college offering diplomas, degrees, foundation courses, short courses, summer courses and youth programs to aspiring actors in London. Approximately 85 percent of Urdang Academy students remain in show business after graduation. The Urdang Academy is housed inside the old Finsbury Town Hall, an historic building dating back to the late 19th century. Facilities at the academy include a number of mirrored studios complete with pianos, PA sound systems and mobile ballet bars.

Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance

The Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance was founded in 1951 by actress Rose Bruford, a verse and speech teacher from the Royal Academy of Music. The Rose Bruford College was the first British college to offer an honours degree in professional acting and theatre practice. The college offers a variety of bachelor's and master's degrees in areas such as theatre design, European theatre arts, opera studies and acting. Facilities at the college include a 330-seat theatre, rehearsal rooms, recording studios, computer laboratories, a drama library, study areas and a café-bar. The Rose Bruford College welcomes exchange students from foreign countries such as Australia, Iceland, Norway, Japan and the US.

Central School of Speech and Drama

The Central School of Speech and Drama is a performing arts college within the University of London. Central caters to both undergraduates and postgraduates, offering a variety of degrees in theatre and performance practices. The Central School of Speech and Drama has the ethos of a theatre company and trains its students to a professional standard. Founded in 1906, the college offers bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as doctoral research degrees, short courses and summer school. Central places an emphasis on work-based learning, preparing its students for life after university.

London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art is an independent drama college offering students the chance to work toward a bachelor's degree, foundation degree or postgraduate diploma. LAMDA also offers short courses focused on practical acting and vocational training. Classes typically occur during the week between 9 am and 5:30 pm, with some evening and weekend classes. LAMDA also has its own theatre, MacOwan Theatre, located in the west London neighborhood of Kensington.
