Employee Safety Gifts

Giving the gift of safety shows your employees that you care.

Employers are always looking for new and innovative ways to give gifts to their employees. Most often the goal is to give a gift that will actually be useful to the employees in one way or another. It could be said that the greatest gift a person has is her health and well being, and for that reason there are a number of gifts that focus on employee safety.

  1. On the Job

    • The most immediate place an employer can make a difference in an employee's life is on the job site, at the office or wherever the employee works. Some great gifts for these circumstances can be something as simple as a new set of ear plugs for construction workers and landscapers or new oven mitts for cooks. The gifts can also be geared toward preventive safety, such as custom ergonomic chairs for employees who work at a desk all day or more supportive and comfortable footwear for doctors and nurses who spend most of their day on their feet.

    Mental Health

    • It's no secret that a great deal of stress in most people's lives is work related. Long hours, fast deadlines and demanding occupations lead to employees who are under a great deal of stress and anxiety for the majority of their day. A safety gift that focuses on the employee's mental health and safety can include stress relief balls or extended breaks. More advanced gifts can include company-sponsored massages or spa gift certificates and even company-sponsored stress management and counseling classes. There are also gifts that can benefit all employees, such as incorporating certain areas that have fountains of running water and plants so that employees can take a few moments to gather and relax when work becomes too stressful.

    Trips and Conferences

    • While it may seem that a work trip isn't really a gift, there is a lot that can be said for getting out of the office and learning new things. Almost every industry and occupation has ways to improve when it comes to employee safety and oftentimes there are conferences that employees can attend to learn about the latest ways to be safe on the job. Companies that have a great deal of manual labor required of workers can send employees to conferences about proper lifting techniques and how to recognize a problem before it gets worse and becomes a serious injury.
