    • Difficult customers are a part of any job in the hotel industry. As a hotel housekeeper you may meet guests when entering rooms or cleaning public areas. It is important to give customers time to vent without interrupting and then to assist. If the problem is out of your control then refer them to somebody that can help.

      When answering this question, you may want to give an example of how you have previously dealt with a similar situation in the past; if not in the same job, how you have learned transferable customer service skills from a previous job.

    • A housekeeper should have the ability to work both individually and as part of a wider team. A knowledge of health and safety is also required when using cleaning chemicals that should be stored away safely. Attention to detail, high cleanliness standards and good communication skills are also important to a hotel housekeeper role.
