Mad Libs
-
Mad Libs is the brand name of a widely copied word game that's readily available for printing at sites such as Word-Game-World.com and MadGlibs.com. This game encourages kids to be as silly as they want to be, while letting parents sneak in a bit of learning. They key to the game is knowing the basic parts of a sentence because the hints call for nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives, rather than things like person, place, action and color. Many games of this type are tailored to specific age groups, so you can choose them to suit your slumber party guests. Games with themes like princesses, ghosts and everyday situations are all available online.
Treasure Hunt
-
What kid doesn't want to go hunting for treasure? While there's no buried pirate gold at the end of this treasure hunt, a bag of loot in the form of candy and other small trinkets will seem just as good when the winning team finds it. This version of the game created by Scavenger-Hunt-Fun.com requires you to split up all of the kids into two teams that will solve a total of 10 clues. The clues come in various forms (different kinds of riddles and puzzles) and their locations are sometimes in the same place for both teams. All of the clues lead to different places within a house (microwave, mail box, patio, dishwasher) so there's no worry about the kinds wandering off while playing. The biggest worry is whether or not one team will hide another team's clue if they get there first.

Who Where Why
-
Truth or Dare can take on many forms, depending on the age of the people playing it. If you don't want the players to end up running around outside singing show tunes, print this alternative version of the game from Diva-Girl-Parties-and-Stuff.com, called "Who Where Why," off the web. The players themselves can customize this game because the template only includes the question words and not the questions themselves. On the side left blank, players write down a question that goes along with the indicated word (Who: Who do you have a crush on?). Each girl gets a set of note cards; once they've written down all of their questions, they shuffle all the cards together and put them face down in a pile. The rest is entirely up to chance.
