Use a translation tool to convert a website's text from one language to another.

Web pages not only display information in English, but also Spanish, French, German and other languages. When searching for information, you may run across a website in another language that may or may not contain what you are looking for. You don't have to manually translate the website using a language dictionary. There are language translation tools that will convert a web page's foreign text into your native language for viewing or printing.

  1. Yahoo! Babel Fish

    • A free, online translation tool, Yahoo! Babel Fish lets you translate a website by entering its address in the box under the "Translate a web page" heading then selecting what language you want to translate the page into. The tool also lets you translate a block of text not part of a website--from an email or other source. Yahoo! Babel Fish works with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome and a variety of other Internet browsers.

    SYSTRAN Web Translator

    • SYSTRAN Web Translator is a stand-alone, commercial program for Windows systems that interfaces with your Internet Explorer or Firefox browser for translating web pages. The program's application window shows the original text and translated text side-by-side--ideal if you are learning the foreign language the website is in. SYSTRAN Web Translator even translates online shopping websites, as well as financial websites containing a mixture of numbers and text.

    WorldLingo

    • WorldLingo is a free, online translation tool that lets you translate to and from a variety of languages including English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian and even Dutch, Greek, Swedish and Arabic. The free tool has a 500-word limit, but you can subscribe to WorldLingo's pay service for websites you need to convert that are larger. WorldLingo works with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome and a variety of other Internet browsers.

    Bing Translator

    • Microsoft's Bing Translator is another free, online web page language translation tool that includes a user-friendly interface that works in a variety of browsers including Firefox and Google Chrome. Bing Translator even auto-detects the web page's language you want to translate.

    Google Translate

    • Similar to other online translation tools, Google Translate lets you translate a web page into over 50 languages for free. The tool works with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome and a variety of other Internet browsers.
