Elvis Cruises

The memory of Elvis lives aboard a cruise.

The spirit of the King of rock 'n' roll comes to life aboard Elvis Presley-themed cruises. If you are an Elvis fan, you have the opportunity to experience the music of Elvis and his impersonators while on a pleasure cruise. Cruise lines often cater to the well-heeled baby boomers, most of who grew up listening to Elvis Presley's music and watching his movies.

  1. The Elvis Cruise

    • The Carnival Cruise Line presents an annual Caribbean cruise that features Elvis-themed entertainment. The perennial host is former Elvis bodyguard and "Memphis Mafia" member Jerry Schilling. The cruise departs from Jacksonville, Florida and sails to Nassau, Bahamas. The ship is filled with Elvis "Tribute Artists, " and features live music by those who knew and performed with Elvis, including The Imperials (they backed Elvis from 1969 to 1971), Joe Guercio (musical director for all of Elvis' concerts from 1970 to 1977), Members of the TCB Band, DJ Fontana (his drummer for recording sessions in the 1960s), and the Memphis Boys (rhythm section - played on hits "Suspicious Minds," "In the Ghetto" and "Kentucky Rain." ) with singer Bobo Moreno.

A special feature of this cruise---which is the only cruise endorsed by the Elvis Presley estate---is an Elvis Gospel Tribute. Elvis often included gospel music in his performances and recordings.

    Elvis Hawaii Memorial Cruise

    • Tribute Cruises sponsors a biannual Hawaiian Elvis Memorial Cruise. Hawaii was the location for an Elvis movie ("Blue Hawaii") and for his 1973 concert, "Aloha from Hawaii." The cast of "With Love, E" celebrates the life and music of the King. Activities include "Sing Like the King" karaoke, a talent contest and costume contest, Elvis movies, and a concert featuring Elvis "Tribute Artists" backed up by the All Star Band and the Divine Sensations Singers. The ship embarks from Honolulu and tours the islands of Maui, HIlo, Kona and Kauai.

    Remembering the King

    • Royal Caribbean features the "Remembering the King" Wildlife Cruise. It's a week-long cruise featuring "Tribute Artists" Art Kistler, Sterling Riggs and the father/son team of Steve and Tommy Marcio. Steve, the father, performs as the older Elvis and his young son Tommy performs as the young, hip-shaking Elvis. They perform a fast-paced dance party tribute to Elvis' movies and 1968 comeback television special. Fans will also have the opportunity to experience an Elvis recording session and take a turn at the microphone. The ship embarks from Seattle and cruises the Alaska Inside Passage.
