Crayola Crayons
-
Coloring a picture or making a drawing are obvious uses for Crayola crayons, but they can also be utilized to create items that are more imaginative. Crayola suggests using your crayons to make a custom journal or book displaying your artwork. Use heavier paper for the front and back covers to increase its durability and place lightweight paper, such as copy paper or notebook paper, inside for the pages of your book. Punch two holes near the left side of the book at the top and bottom. Slip a rubber band through both holes and secure each end of the rubber band to a stick or wooden dowel. The stick becomes the spine of the book and holds everything together.
Another Crayola crayon project involves coloring paper lunch bags to create simple puppets. The sides of the bag form the body of your puppet while the bottom of the back is the puppet's face. You can also glue additional pieces of paper to the bag to form arms, legs or hair.
Fabric Markers
-
Create your own custom clothing or bags with Crayola fabric markers. These markers work best on cotton or cotton-blend fabrics. Before decorating your item, place a piece of cardboard underneath the fabric to prevent it from bleeding through and staining your work surface or another part of the fabric. Once you are satisfied with your design, set it permanently by tumbling it in a hot dryer for 30 minutes.

Crayola Model Magic
-
Crayola Model Magic is a soft, non-toxic modeling clay that air-dries in 24 hours to preserve your creations. You can decorate disposable containers with the clay to create pencil holders, jewelry boxes, miniature models of houses or a medieval castle. Use empty yogurt containers, juice cans, baby food jars or tissue boxes. Clean and dry the containers thoroughly before you begin to apply the clay.
Model Magic can also be used to create your own custom jewelry. Shape small pieces of the clay into beads or roll the clay flat and cut assorted shapes with a knife or small cookie cutters. Poke a small hole in the top of each piece of jewelry so you can attach the piece to earring hooks or a necklace chain. Purchase jewelry-making materials from craft stores and look for items with open jump rings. The jump ring can be slipped into the hold in your handmade jewelry and closed with a pair of pliers.
While you can use Model Magic for a variety of crafts, Crayola warns against using this product to cover any surface that will be exposed to flame or heat such as candle holders or trivets. Water and moisture should also be avoided as the clay will break down and begin to disintegrate if it becomes wet.
