The are a number of technical colleges in Georgia that offer a certificate in Basic Law Enforcement. This certificate will certify you to become a Georgia Peace Officer. A Georgia Peace Officer can be a state highway patrol, a GBI investigator or a handful of different types of law enforcement personnel.

      Dekalb Tech

      • The Dekalb Technical College offers a 17-week program sanctioned by the Georgia POST Council. Recruits who complete this program will get certification in POST Basic Law Enforcement and 59 college credits towards an associates degree. Financial Aid is available and the HOPE credit can be used where applicable.
