Hunting Implement and Related Accessories
-
Choose a hunting implement such as a rifle or bow and arrow to take game in the field. Bring along any accessories such as ammunition, sights, broadheads or tips, repair kits or cleaning kits. Binoculars or spotting scopes prove helpful in identifying game at a distance and a range finder can tell how far away a deer is. Bring a knife for field dressing purposes or other unexpected tasks. Decoys, deer calls and deer scents or human scent eliminators can assist in attracting game.
Clothing and Footwear
-
Choose clothing based on weather conditions. For warmer weather, choose lightweight camouflage pants and shirts. For colder weather, choose heavier weight or insulated camouflage articles of clothing such as coveralls or jackets. Thermal underwear also proves helpful as well as thick, wool socks. Choose waterproof boots that are appropriate for the weather and hiking conditions. Lightweight, heavy, insulated, non-insulated and snake-proof boots are available. Bring rain gear for stormy conditions. A waterproof, insulated or lightweight cap is also helpful. Gloves keep hands warm.
