Canada Art Grants
There are a variety of grants available to support Canadian artists. Organizations dedicated to promoting the arts in Canada are the most common source of financial assistance for Canadian artists. Most grants are provided to artists living and working in a particular province. Some Canadian organizations will provide grant money to artist collectives as well as to individual artists.

Canada Council for the Arts Grant programs
-
One of the largest sources of general funding for Canadian artists is the Canada Council for the Arts (CCA). The CCA provides grants to artists operating in a wide variety of disciplines, including dance, new media, visual arts, music, writing and theater. CCA grants are awarded in varying amounts according to need, and provide support to individuals for the creation or production of art projects, for professional development and for residency or travel costs. An individual must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and must be a professional artist with a history of performance or publication. The CCA also provides grant money to artist collectives such as public galleries, art museums, and theater and dance companies. Application deadlines vary. Prospective applicants should visit the CCA website for complete information.
